New Delhi: The award-winning film All We Imagine as Light finally hit Indian theatres on Friday (November 22, 2024). However, in a shocking turn of events, actress Divya Prabha’s nude scene from the much-talked-about movie was reportedly leaked online.
In no time, the visuals went viral on social media after they were widely circulated on the Internet. Reacting to the incident, the Malayali actress Divya Prabha lashed out at those responsible for leaking the video.
According to timesnownews.com, Divya told Onmanorama that while she found the incident pathetic, she had anticipated such a reaction from a section of Kerala’s population when she signed on for the role. She added that ‘we are a community’ that celebrates filmmakers like Yorgos Lanthimos, yet we are intolerant of Malayali women portraying such characters.
Divya further highlighted that the individuals who shared the leaked clips represent only a small percentage of the population and she does not understand their mindset. She highlighted that Malayalis were also part of the Central Board of Film Certification, which approved the film. Divya mentioned that she was completely convinced with her character in the flick and didn’t take on the nude scene for fame. “I don’t think I need to strip naked to earn fame,” she was quoted as saying.

In the Payal Kapadia directorial, Divya plays the role of a nurse. The film brought pride to India, earlier in 2024, on a global stage by winning the prestigious Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival. All We Imagine As Light also stars Kani Kusruti, Chhaya Kadam, Hridhu Haroon, Azees Nedumangad and Anand Sami in pivotal roles.
