Basant Panchami Snan festival was successfully completed in Prayagraj Magh Mela. 3.56 crore devotees took bath in Triveni Sangam. CM Yogi congratulated the devotees with the participation of saints, Akharas and Kalpavasis.
Prayagraj. The Basant Panchami Snan festival organized during the Magh Mela in Prayagraj was completed with complete success. On this auspicious occasion, 3.56 crore devotees took a dip of faith in Triveni Sangam. Due to better, well-organized and coordinated arrangements of the government and administration, the number of devotees in Magh Mela created a new record.
Historic crowd of faith gathered at Triveni Sangam
On Basant Panchami, the great festival of worship of Mother Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, the banks of Sangam were filled with devotees. Devotees from every corner of the country took a holy bath in the confluence of Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati. The huge crowd gathered at the ghats reflected the importance of Magh Mela and the deep faith of the devotees.
Number of devotees exceeds Mahakumbh 2025
Magh Mela officer Rishiraj said that the number of devotees on Basant Panchami bathing festival has even left behind the figures of Mahakumbh 2025. He said that till now in Magh Mela 2026, more than 15 crore devotees have taken holy bath in Triveni Sangam. This achievement is the result of strong planning and effective implementation of the administration.
Prominent saints including Shankaracharya took holy bath
On the fourth major bathing festival of Magh Mela, along with the Kalpavasis, all the prominent saints and religious scholars took holy bath while performing meditation in the fair area. Purvaamnaya Shri Govardhan Math, Puri Peethadhishwar Shankaracharya Swami Nischalanand Saraswati reached Triveni coast with his disciples. Walking on the route prescribed by the administration, they reached Sangam Nose and took bath in Mother Ganga, Yamuna and invisible Saraswati with simplicity and reverence.
Participation of various Akharas and sects
On the Basant Panchami bathing festival, Dandi Swami saints, Ramanandi and Ramanujacharya sect saints also took a dip of faith in Ganga and Triveni. Along with this, the members of Kinnar Akhara also reached the banks of Sangam with full enthusiasm and devotion and took a holy bath.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath greeted the devotees
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated all the devotees who took bath in the Sangam on the Basant Panchami bathing festival. Posting on the social media platform ‘X’, the Chief Minister wrote that on the auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchami, hearty congratulations to all the devotees who took holy bath at Triveni Sangam in Tirtharaj Prayag. May the dip of faith in the holy Sangam be auspicious and fruitful for all and may Mother Ganga fulfill everyone’s wishes.
