Kanda-Lasun Masala: The aroma of Kanda-Lasun masala used in Maharashtrian (Kolhapuri) cuisine is quite vibrant and its taste is also spicy. It can be used in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. Cumin and spices like bay leaves, star anise, black pepper are also used in this. Dry red chilli, coconut and asafoetida also go into it, but the two most important things in it are onion and garlic. That is why the name of this spice is Kanda (Onion), Laksoo (Garlic) Masala.
