Did you not get the 20th installment of PM farmer? The government has given reasons

On August 2, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme from Varanasi, causing direct financial benefits to the bank accounts of millions of eligible farmers across the country. For this, the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has also given information about many reasons. Let us also tell you what are the reasons that can have 20 installments, due to which the reasons can be stopped.

Why the 20th installment was stopped?

The Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare has identified several suspicious cases which can come under the exclusion criteria defined in PM Kisan Guidelines. According to the PM Kisan website, the benefits of such cases have been temporarily stopped till physical verification. Some common reasons for stopping payment are as follows:

Land Honorship Issue: After February 1, 2019, farmers receiving agricultural land are not eligible for this scheme.

Many family members are getting benefits: If more than one member of the same family (such as spouses, or adult and minor children) are gaining benefits, it can be marked for verification.

Wrong or duplicate details: Mistakes in Aadhaar, bank or land records can also stop payment.

E-KYC: E-KYC is compulsory for PM farmer registered farmers.

What is PM farmer?

PM Kisan is a central sector scheme of 100 % finance by the Government of India, which provides benefits to eligible farmers. Under this scheme, an amount of Rs 6000 per year is transferred per year in three equal installments of Rs 2000 in bank accounts associated with the Aadhaar of farmers.

Who is not eligible for the benefits of PM Kisan Yojana?

  • Not all institutional land holders are entitled to this scheme.
  • In the previous and present times, no constitutional post can take advantage of this scheme.
  • Former and current Minister/Minister of State and Lok Sabha/Rajya Sabha/State Legislative Assembly/Former/Current Members of State Legislative Councils, former and current mayor of municipal corporations, former and current presidents of district panchayats are also not eligible for this scheme.
  • The central/state government ministries/offices/departments and their regional units, central or state public sector companies and affiliated offices, all serving officers and employees of autonomous institutions under the government, people of regular employees of local bodies, as well as regular employees (multi -tasking staff/fourth class/group D) of local bodies can not take advantage of the scheme.
  • All retired/retired pensioners whose monthly pension is Rs 10,000 or more can not be beneficiaries of the scheme.
  • All the people who have paid income tax in the last assessment year cannot take advantage of this scheme.
