Veteran actress Gouthami , who has recently become a familiar face to Tamil television audiences with her supporting role in the popular daily soap Manasellam , has a rich and illustrious film career that many younger viewers might not be aware of.
While she is now winning hearts on the small screen, Gouthami Tadimalla popularly known simply as Gouthami, was once one of the leading heroines of South Indian cinema . She has starred alongside legendary actors such as Kamal Haasan , Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, and Mammootty during her peak in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Interestingly, many might not know that Gouthami played a significant role in Kamal Haasan’s critically acclaimed film Thevar Magan (1992). Adding to her impressive collaborations with Kamal, she also acted with him in the 2015 film Papanasam , a Tamil remake of the Malayalam blockbuster Drishyam, where she portrayed the role of Kamal’s on-screen wife.
