Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ ended Salman Khan’s long-running box office dominance by earning a record amount of Rs 117 crore on Eid day. The film has created new history by breaking many big records.

Dhurandhar The Revenge Eid Box office Collection: Now on the occasion of Eid in Bollywood, a new name has become popular in place of Salman Khan. This is none other than Ranveer Singh of Dhurandhar 2. His film not only created many records, but also ended Salman Khan’s almost decade-long reign at the Eid box office. The spy thriller film ‘Dhurandhar 2’, made under the direction of Aditya Dhar, broke three big records and made it clear that the era of a new “Eid King” has started in Bollywood.

Record earning of Rs 117 crore on Eid day

Ranveer Singh’s film Dhurandhar 2 performed brilliantly at the box office on 21st March, Saturday i.e. Eid day. On Eid, the film crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on the first day and earned a total of Rs 117 crore. This figure is a new record in itself and before this no film had earned such a huge amount on the day of Eid.

Salman Khan’s reign ends on Eid

Till now the festival of Eid was in the name of Salman Khan in Bollywood. From ‘Bodyguard’ to ‘Sikander’, every year his films dominated Eid. But the tremendous success of ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has broken this tradition. Ranveer Singh proved that the audience is now liking new faces equally on the occasion of Eid.

Record of highest Eid Day collection broken

The record of highest earning on Eid day was previously held by Salman Khan’s film ‘Bharat’ (2019), which had earned Rs 42.30 crore. Now Ranveer Singh’s film has broken this record by earning Rs 117 crore. This is almost 2.7 times more than the earnings of ‘Bharat’, which is considered a big achievement in Bollywood.

After COVID, Salman’s films were also left behind

The one day collection of Ranveer Singh’s film is more than the total collection of Salman Khan’s 2 Eid releases after COVID. In 2023, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ had earned Rs 25.75 crore on Eid day, while ‘Sikander’, released in 2025, had earned Rs 33.36 crore. The total collection of both the films comes to Rs 59.11 crore, which is much less than the Rs 117 crore of ‘Dhurandhar 2’.

Salman Khan’s dominance ends in Top 5 Eid collections too
