Pakistani authorities announced the ban due to concerns over the film’s depiction of sensitive historical events such as cross-border terrorism and espionage stories set in the Lari area of Karachi. According to an IANS report, officials and experts raised concerns over the depiction of internal difficulties and ‘anti-Pakistan’ overtones, which led to the official release being rejected. Other Gulf countries including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and UAE also took the same step.
