Ranveer Singh starrer film ‘Dhurandhar’ is making huge money at the box office. In just 7 days this film has earned more than Rs 300 crore worldwide. Meanwhile, a bad news has also emerged for this. Actually, this film has been banned not in one or two, but in all 6 Gulf countries. The 6 countries where this film has been banned are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. It is being told that the makers tried their best to release the film in all the Gulf countries, but they could not get the green signal here.
Why was Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar’ banned in 6 Gulf countries?
According to reports, the authority considered the theme of the film to be anti-Pakistan and hence refused to give it clearance. Bollywood Hungama in its report quoted sources as saying, “There was every possibility of this happening because it is being considered an anti-Pakistan film. The team still tried its best, but no country approved the theme of the film. This is the reason why Dhurandhar has not been released in any Gulf territory.”

Many films have been banned in Gulf countries before
The ban of ‘Dhurandhar’ in Gulf countries has sparked a debate on how cross-border films have to undergo strict scrutiny in the Middle East. Before this Ranveer Singh starrer spy action drama, films like Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter, Akshay Kumar starrer Sky Force, John Abraham starrer Diplomat, Yami Gautam starrer Article 370 and Anupam Kher starrer ‘The Kashmir Files’ have also faced ban in the Middle East.

‘Dhurandhar’, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released worldwide on 5 December. In one week, the film has collected approximately Rs 207.25 crore in India and approximately Rs 306.25 crore worldwide. Apart from Ranveer Singh, actors like Akshay Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun have also played important roles in the film.
