Both the Dhurandhar films have taken over at box office and online conversation since their release. The second part, directed by Aditya Dhar titled Dhurandhar:The Revenge, arrived in theatres on March 19 and is now heading towards becoming the highest-grossing Indian film ever.
Its impact isn’t limited to India, the film has been wreaking havoc in overseas as well. The recent milestone acheived by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar 2 is that the movie has gone past the North America collections of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, setting a new record in the region.
Dhurandhar 2 beats 9 year record of Baahubali 2 earnings in North America
The S. S. Rajamouli directorial had held the top spot for nine years, with even big-ticket films like Pushpa 2: The Rule, Jawan and Animal falling short of that mark. What makes this achievement stand out is the fact that Dhurandhar 2 has managed it without the usual advantages. The film carries an ‘A’ certificate, limiting its reach, runs close to four hours, and didn’t release in Gulf markets, territories that typically contribute heavily to overseas earnings.
According to industry trade tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar 2 has already crossed $19.40 million in North America. Baahubali 2had finished with $20.19 million in the region, a figure the new release is expected to comfortably surpass by Sunday.
Baahubali 2 producer’s reaction to Dhurandhar 2’s record
Taking to official X handle (Formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Baahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda praised the spy thriller and penned a heartwarming note. The filmmaker said that he thoroughly enjoyed the movie and was happy to see it break records and set new benchmarks, while congratulating the entire team.
Baahubali 2 Producer isn’t the first celeb from South industry to praise Dhurandhar 2. The film’s fan base has been growing ever since it was released in theatres. Recently, Superstar Rajinikanth praised the film and called director Aditya Dhar ‘box office ka baap.’ Filmmakers Ram Gopal Varma, SS Rajamouli, Rakesh Roshan and renowned actors like Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR have also lauded the film.

Speaking of Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge, the film marks the return of Ranveer Singh’s Hamza Ali Mazari/Jaskirat Singh Rangi and how he enters into Pakistan’s Karachi to become the King Of Lyari and break the roots of terrorism in India. The movie also features R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and others.
