Dhurandhar 2 created history by crossing the Rs 1000 crore mark in just 18 days. In terms of net collection, this film of Ranveer Singh has earned twice as much as Shahrukh’s Pathan and almost three times more than Aamir Khan’s Dangal. The film is now rapidly moving towards Rs 1100 crore.
Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Collection: About two decades ago, the term ‘100 crore club’ was started with Aamir Khan’s film ‘Ghajini’. This movie had a net earning of Rs 100 crore in India. Earlier, films like Disco Dancer, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge had earned Rs 100 crore, but foreign collections were also included in them. At that time, it was a big deal for a film to earn Rs 100 crore in India alone. But ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has broken all records by earning Rs 1000 crore in India alone.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ creates history, enters Rs 1000 crore club
Now the situation has changed in just 18 years. Dhurandhar: The Revenge (Dhurandhar 2) crossed the Rs 1000 crore nett mark at the Indian box office on 5 April. This was the 18th day of the film’s release. With this, this film joined a special club, in which till now only films like Bahubali 2 and Pushpa 2 were there.
Complete earnings figures and growth
The Ranveer Singh starrer earned Rs 938 crore in India in the first two weeks. Earned Rs 21.55 crore on third Friday (over 20% jump) and Rs 25.65 crore on Saturday. In this way the total collection of 17 days became Rs 985 crore. After this, by Sunday evening on the 18th day, the film crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark by adding another Rs 17 crore. Looking at the current pace, there is every possibility of the film reaching Rs 1100 crore.
How far has the film progressed from ‘Pathan’ and ‘Dangal’?
Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Pathan’ had earned only half of this amount (541 crore net collection) three years ago in 2023. Whereas Dangal, which held the record for a long time, was also able to cross only one-third of this figure (387 crore net collection). At the same time, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has crossed the Rs 1000 crore mark and has earned almost 2 to 3 times more than these two films.
Impact of ticket price and sales
High ticket prices also played a big role in the success of Dhurandhar 2.
