Chiyaan Vikram’s Dhruva Natchathiram has faced multiple delays in its theatrical release. Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, the film was initially supposed to release eight years ago. However, due to a legal dispute, it hasn’t seen the light of day yet. The latest development is that the Madras High Court has reportedly dismissed the appeals filed by the creditors who challenged the theatrical release of . As per CNBC TV18, LiveLaw has reported that a bench comprising Justices P Velmurugan and K Govindarajan Thilakavadi dismissed the appeals. Creditors K Prem Kumar and K Punniyamoorthy had apparently filed the appeals. As the Madras HC apparently dismissed them, the makers of Dhruva Natchathiram have got major relief.

This development comes after a single judge of the High Court reportedly passed an order on April 30 permitting the release of Chiyaan Vikram’s film subject to several conditions. Earlier, the court had apparently directed the creation of an escrow account in the name of Kondaduvom Entertainment.
For the unversed, the legal dispute is apparently regarding the financial disagreement about the theatrical distribution rights of Enai Noki Paayum Thota. After an alleged dispute with Escape Artists Motion Pictures, one of the producers on Chiyaan Vikram film, proceedings were apparently initiated. Back in 2018, a MoU was reportedly signed, following which 50% of the producer’s rights were transferred to the producers of Dhruv Natchathiram.

Meanwhile, penned a long note on Instagram stating that some men tried to destroy his career and stop his film from releasing. The filmmaker mentioned that honourable justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy paved the way for him. “A landmark order passed to release Dhruva Natchathiram will serve as a benchmark to any film that’s stuck in an industry that rarely works with organised and structured funds,” he added.
Written by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Deepak Venkateshan, the film is a spy action thriller. Apart from Chiyaan Vikram, the film’s star cast includes Ritu Varma, R Parthiban, Simran, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Aishwarya Rajesh, and others. Backed by Ondraga Entertainment and Oruoorileoru Film House, the movie is reportedly made on a budget of Rs 80 crore. It was initially announced for August 2017 release. That said, the makers are yet to announce a new release date.
