New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra was recently admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, causing concern among his fans. However, his wife, actress and politician Hema Malini, has now reassured everyone that he is doing well.
The 89-year-old star is at the hospital for routine health tests, and there is nothing to worry about. Dharmendra, who will turn 90 in December, is also preparing for his upcoming film, Ikkis, releasing this Christmas.
Dharmendra’s health update
Veteran actor Dharmendra was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on October 31, 2025, leading to worry among his fans. On November 3, his wife Hema Malini gave an update to ease these fears. At the Mumbai airport, she was asked about Dharmendra’s health and responded with a warm greeting and folded hands, assuring, “He is well”.
A source close to the actor told the Hindustan Times that Dharmendra’s hospital stay was purely for routine medical tests. The source said, “There is no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine tests, which is why he is currently admitted.” They added that Dharmendra preferred to stay in the hospital to complete all tests in one go, instead of travelling daily, which can be tiring at his age.
Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are busy with their own film shoots but are keeping a close watch on their father’s health. The source shared, “They are staying updated on the medical tests and results”.
In addition to his health, Dharmendra is also preparing for his upcoming film, Ikkis. The movie is a biopic on Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military award. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the war film stars Agastya Nanda alongside Dharmendra and other actors like Jaideep Ahlawat and Sikandar Kher. The film is scheduled to release in December 2025, around the time Dharmendra turns 90.
