Dhanush takes Nayanthara to court over Netflix documentary – Key details inside

New Delhi: Actor Dhanush and Nayanthara’s feud has got intense as the former has filed a civil suit against the actress for allegedly using visuals from their film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her Netflix Documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale.

 

Earlier, Nayanthara shared an open letter accusing Dhanush of not granting permission for two years to use visuals from the film in her documentary. Now, Dhanush has taken legal action against the lady superstar of Tamil cinema. Let’s delve into more details!

Dhanush sues Nayanthara

According to The Hindu report, Dhanush’s Wunderbar Films Private Limited has filed a legal suit against Rowdy Pictures Private Limited, Nayanthara, and Vignesh Shivan. As per the suit, Dhanush has alleged that Nayanthara and Vignesh have used visuals from the movie, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, in their Netflix documentary.

Dhanush has also sought permission from the High Court to sue Los Gatos Production Services India LLP, a company through which Netflixthe online streaming app reports its content investments in India. The actor has further urged the court to use 12 of the Letters Patent.

 

 

During the hearing, the court heard both the parties’ arguments and granted permission. Reportedly, Nayanthara has to respond to the suit at the next hearing.

What’s the feud between Dhanush and Nayanthara?

Earlier, Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara demanding Rs 10 crore for using a three-second clip of the behind-the-scenes of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan. Responding to the legal notice, Nayanthara shared an open letter to Dhanush where she condemned Dhanush’s act and called it ‘vengeance’. She said that she was ‘startled’ by his legal notice where he questioned the usage of some videos that are publicly available.
