Amit Shah on Jagdeep Dhankhar: Home Minister Amit Shah reacted for the first time to the growing speculation about the resignation of former Vice President of the country Jagdeep Dhankhar. He clearly stated that Dhankhar has resigned due to his personal health reasons.

Amit Shah on Jagdeep Dhankhar: Amit Shah while talking to news agency ANI said, “Dhankhar Saheb’s resignation is clear in itself. He cited health reasons and thanked all the members of the Prime Minister, ministers and government during his tenure. He did not have any kind of pressure or prevention.”

In response to the questions raised by the opposition, Shah said that the explanation of truth and lies should not be based only on the statements of the opposition. He said that there should not be excessive uproar on this matter. Shah said, “Jagdeep Dhankhar was in a constitutional post and performed his duties. He resigned for personal health reasons.”

Opposition had made allegations

Earlier, the opposition, including the Congress, claimed that Dhankhar was silenced after a sudden resignation. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that this is the first time in the history of the country that a Vice President’s resignation came to light.

Resignation was given on 21 July

Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned as Vice President on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament on 21 July. He wrote in his resignation letter sent to President Draupadi Murmu that he wants to give priority to his health. After his resignation, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan headed the proceedings of the Upper House.
