DGCA suspends four inspectors over IndiGo meltdown

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended four flight operations inspectors in response to IndiGo’s recent large-scale operational breakdown. These inspectors were responsible for overseeing IndiGo’s flight safety systems, operational procedures, and regulatory compliance.

Last week, thousands of IndiGo flights were cancelled or delayed due to a severe crew shortage and disruptions linked to new duty-time norms.

According to officials, preliminary findings suggest gaps in inspection and oversight, indicating that the inspectors may not have adequately flagged or addressed early warning signs within IndiGo’s operations.
