On Tribal Pride Day in Sonbhadra, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath gifted projects worth Rs 548 crore on the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda. Big announcements of double engine government were made for tribal security, respect and development. Also congratulated on NDA’s victory in Bihar.

Thursday was recorded in the pages of history in the quiet hilly areas of Sonbhadra. After 150 years, the inspiring echo of Birsa Munda once again echoed in the land of Sonbhadra, just as his call of struggle had once echoed in the forests. In this grand event of Tribal Pride Day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath not only appeared excited by the crowd present, but he also made many important announcements regarding the upliftment of the tribal society.

Double engine government committed to tribal safety and respect: Chief Minister

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the double engine government of NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is giving top priority to the safety, respect and self-reliance of the tribal society. He said that it is the responsibility of the government to connect the tribal society with mainstream development and in this direction, extensive work is being done continuously in tribal dominated areas like Sonbhadra. He said that Birsa Munda’s sentiment of ‘Abua Desh, Abua Raj’ is being realized in the form of ‘Nation First’ in today’s India.

Gift of Rs 548 crore to Sonbhadra on the 150th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda

During the programme, the Chief Minister gifted 432 development projects worth Rs 548 crore to Sonbhadra. These include widening of roads, construction of bridges, expansion of health facilities, irrigation projects and many schemes related to public interest.

Cultural heritage came alive on the stage of Tribal Pride Day

In the programme, Yak dance of Arunachal Pradesh, performances by tribal theater groups of Chhattisgarh and Karma dance of Sonbhadra came alive on the stage. The tribal brothers and sisters who arrived in thousands made this cultural festival more grand with thunderous applause.

Land lease to tribal families and respect to descendants of freedom fighters

The Chief Minister handed over land leases to tribal families under the Forest Rights Act and honored the descendants of freedom fighters. He said that the distribution of forest rights pattas is not just a formality, but a life-changing step. More than 23,000 pattas have been approved so far and title deeds handed over to more than 1,000 families today alone.

Sonbhadra: Beyond energy capital, center of human history and natural heritage

The Chief Minister said that Sonbhadra is not only an energy capital but also a precious confluence of nature and human history. Places like 140 crore year old fossils of Salkhan Fossil Park, Shivdwar Panchmukhi Mahadev, Jwalamukhi Shaktipeeth and Hathi Nala make it a major center of spiritual and eco-tourism.

Major changes in education, health and employment

The Chief Minister said that in Sonbhadra:

  • The first government medical college has been started
  • The district hospital has been developed into 500 beds.
  • Modern education is being given in Eklavya Model School
  • Kasturba Gandhi schools expanded up to class 12
  • Atal Residential School continues to operate
  • Abhyudaya coaching has given new direction to tribal youth in competitive examinations.

Big projects in irrigation and energy sectors

  • 1,320 MW new power project in Obra
  • More than 53,000 farmers benefited from Kanhar Irrigation Project
  • Drinking water connections to 36,649 houses under Jal Jeevan Mission
  • Figure of Rs 25,981 crore in investment proposals

Rapid saturation of social security schemes

  • More than 6,50,000 Ayushman cards
  • 2,51,000 gas connections under Ujjwala scheme
  • More than 75,000 old age pension benefits
  • 8,30,570 accounts of Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana
  • Toilets provided to more than 3.5 lakh rural families under Swachh Bharat Mission
  • 2,35,573 farmers benefited from PM Kisan Yojana

The Chief Minister congratulated NDA on its historic victory in Bihar elections and said that the relationship between the two states is like the sacred tradition of Lord Ram and Mata Janaki – unbreakable and strong.
