Despite the ‘half a second’ missing, Miguel Oliveira saw growth at Silverstone: ‘It was a weekend with visible progression’

Miguel Oliveira faced a demanding race at Silverstone, marked by wind and unstable conditions. The Prima Pramac MotoGP rider acknowledged the challenges and physical effort involved.

‘Yeah. Tricky conditions, probably not the worst, but I think second most difficult conditions I ever raced in Silverstone. Yeah, quite windy. It was even more physical to ride the bike in these conditions,’ Oliveira began.

Despite that, he pointed out improvements: ‘As I said yesterday, I’m still missing that just half a second doing the same effort I’m doing now, riding the bike, but just do it faster. It was a weekend with feasible progression. I’m more happy now with my speed, but still lacking that pace on the race too many laps in a row.’

On tire choice, Oliveira explained: ‘They were okay, I guess. I had a question mark. I didn’t know if I should go with the medium or front or with the soft. At the end, I chose the soft because everyone on Yamaha was with the soft. So I thought I don’t wanna be different. For me, it was the right choice. Felt good with the tire, dropped a little bit on the right side by the end of the race.’

And he closed with a positive: ‘Medium rear, as I expected, worked out a little bit better for us. At least we were able to put some closer lap times to the fastest guys.’
