Dietician Geetika Chopra tells that, The most common myth regarding desi ghee is that it increases cough. Whereas the truth is that if Desi is eaten in the right quantity and with the right pairing, it does not increase cough. Let us tell you that desi ghee is of hot nature and gives soothing effect to the dryness of the throat. Therefore, desi ghee is also beneficial in dry cough.
Eating ghee at the wrong time can prove costly
Experts say that desi ghee is harmful when it is taken at the wrong time and in large quantities. According to him, if you take desi ghee in large quantities or with heavy meals at night, then there is a risk of excessive mucus formation. Eating ghee like this is harmful especially for those people who already have cough or cold.
How to consume ghee?
Dietician Geetika Chopra says that in the winter season, ghee should always be eaten with hot dal, vegetables or roti. For this, 1 teaspoon ghee is enough. Completely avoid consuming ghee with cold drinks. That is, overall, ghee is not harmful, but it depends on how and with whom it is being taken.
