Depressed over friendship fallout, MBA student jumps to her death from Greater Noida high-rise

New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to light from Greater Noida where a student allegedly died by suicide by jumping from the 13th floor of a high-rise building. Police said that the 25-year-old student was pursuing Master of Business Administration. She took the extreme step while her parents were asleep at home on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, the Hindustan Times reported. No suicide note has been found till now.

Citing the primary probe, Assistant police commissioner Pawan Kumar reportedly said that the woman was going through depression after a friendship ended.

She was sent back home

Police said that when they contacted the woman’s college administration (in Mohali), they were told that she had tried to end her life on the campus on two occasions. After those suicide bids, the college administration asked her to go home and did not take her back. After this, she had been staying indoors in her home in Greater Noida, sources said.

According to another officer, a security guard stationed at the high-rise building was passing by when he saw the woman lying in a pool of blood. He informed the society’s management immediately. Police were called through the emergency helpline number 112. After the cops showed her photo to the residents of the society, her flat number was identified.

Her parents were asleep

An investigator reportedly told the news outlet that the woman’s parents were sleeping in their flat and they were not aware that their daughter had jumped to death. Police found a stool and slippers in the corridor of the 13th floor near her flat.

Police reportedly said that they suspect that the woman stepped out of her flat and jumped from the floor in the middle of the night. The woman’s mobile phone was recovered inside her home. Police seized it for investigation.

The woman is survived by her parents and a brother who is employed in Gurugram. The woman’s post-mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday. Further probe into the case is ongoing.
