Delhi Weather: Red Alert For Heavy Rain As Monsoon Showers Continue; Noida, Gurugram On Yellow Warning

Delhi-NCR Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in some areas of Delhi for Sunday.

An orange alert for moderate rain has also been issued in some areas.

Parts Of Delhi Under Red Alert

IMD’s nowcast has placed certain areas of Delhi on red alert until 1.30 pm on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain, thunderstorms with lightning and winds gusting up to 30-40 kmph are likely over parts of Shahdara, Central Delhi, North East Delhi, North West Delhi, North Delhi.

Heavy rains are also likely in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, as well as Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.

 

 

Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad Under Yellow Alert

IMD has placed certain areas of Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Noida under a yellow alert for Sunday.

Delhi Witnesses Heavy Showers On Weekend

Heavy rains lashed the national capital on Saturday with multiple key spots in the city facing severe waterlogging. Flight operations at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport were also affected on Saturday due to rain and bad weather. More than 200 flights were delayed, of these, arrivals to Delhi Airport experienced an average delay of about 70 minutes, while departures experienced a delay of up to 130 minutes.
