Delhi School Bomb Threat: The Dwarka district police have apprehended a 12-year-old boy in connection with bomb threat emails sent to schools and colleges in Delhi over the past three days.
According to sources, the boy sent the emails to avoid going to school, hoping it would be closed. He allegedly sent the emails when his parents were not at home.
The police officer stated that some more individuals are being searched in this case. Based on the language used in the emails, it appears that children might be behind this mischievous act. After identifying the boy, he was caught, counselled in the presence of his parents, and subsequently released.
Due to the involvement of a minor, the police are not disclosing much information about the case. Notably, schools have been receiving threatening emails in the past as well. While minors have been caught in such cases before, this instance marks the first time a child of such a young age has been found responsible.
In a similar incident earlier this year, a 12th-grade student was caught sending bomb threat emails to avoid exams. Last December, a surge of bomb threat emails was reported in various Delhi schools.
Bomb Threats To Planes
Alongside schools, airlines also frequently receive bomb threat emails. In cases where the culprits are caught, the motives often reveal personal disputes or anger. Some instances include:
A fight with a spouse or partner
A personal vendetta, as seen in one case where a man sent a bomb threat email because his brother-in-law was supposed to arrive on the flight, and he was upset that he didn’t come home.
