Delhi Red Fort blast: What did ED find in Al-Falah University?

Al Falah University ED Raid: ED’s major action on Al-Falah University has intensified investigation into 9 shell companies, suspicious funding and possible links to the Red Fort blast. Investigation into fake recognition, financial irregularities and links to ‘white collar module’ ongoing.

New Delhi. After the high-intensity blast that took place on November 10 in the Red Fort area of the capital Delhi, the investigation agencies have now focused their attention not only on the attackers but also on their background, institutions and financial trail. In this context, the name of Al-Falah University of Faridabad has emerged rapidly. This is the same university where Dr. Umar Un Nabi and many accused associated with the “white collar terrorist module” worked. ED suspects that some networks linked here may be related to the funding of the Red Fort blast. For this reason, ED started a major raid on more than 25 places in Delhi-NCR on Monday morning. Now many shocking facts are emerging in the investigation.

Were ‘shell companies’ running in the name of Al-Falah University?

During the ED raid, it was revealed that 9 companies belonging to Al-Falah Group were registered at the same address. This pattern usually occurs with shell companies—that is, companies that have no actual business but are used to move money around.

These main signs emerged in the investigation

  • No actual activity at the declared offices of these companies
  • Same mobile number and email in different companies
  • No record of EPF/ESIC, while claim of big work
  • Same directors and signatories in multiple companies
  • Salary or HR records of employees almost missing
  • Companies being registered on the same dates

All these indications show that the network was created only on paper so that funds could be diverted.

Did the university mislead people by showing fake recognition?

The investigation did not stop here. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has also raised big questions on Al-Falah University. NAAC says the university is not recognized. It falsely claimed on its website that many of its colleges were “A Grade” accredited. NAAC has immediately issued a show cause notice and ordered removal of all “fake recognition” information from the website. This has further increased the suspicion of the investigating agencies because the combination of “fake recognition” and “shell companies” is usually a direct indication that there was something fishy going on inside.

Red Fort blast connection: Is everything linked to ‘white collar module’?

  • So far 15 people have died in the Red Fort explosion.
  • The attacker has been identified as Dr. Omar Un Nabi, who was associated with Al-Falah University here.
  • The three arrested doctors are also said to be associated with this network.

ED has doubts on these points

  • Were these shell companies used in funding the blast?
  • Were some people inside the university giving financial support to the module?
  • Was there any common link between financial irregularities and terrorist activities?

At present the investigation is going on and officials say that more big revelations are likely to be made very soon.

Will the next step be exposing the big funding networks?

The investigating agencies believe that this is just the beginning. A long investigation of records, digital data, bank transactions and files of companies related to Al-Falah University is still pending and if anything concrete is found in it, then this investigation can completely change the direction of Delhi blasts.
