New Delhi. The explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10 shook the entire city. The investigation into this case is still going on and many shocking revelations have come to light. The most important one is Dr. Shaheen Shahid’s Maruti Suzuki Brezza, which he bought recently. Was this car part of the main conspiracy behind the blast?
Is there a link between Dr. Shaheen Shahid and Dr. Muzammil Ganai of Pulwama?
Investigations revealed that 43-year-old former campus doctor Dr Shaheen Shahid, known as “Madam Surgeon”, was a key member of the Jaish-e-Mohammed network. He was photographed with Dr. Muzammil Ganai, a 28-year-old doctor from Pulwama. According to sources, Ganai is the most fanatic and dangerous member of the network.
Apart from Maruti Brezza, which cars had explosives?
The investigation found that not only the Brezza, but the module had purchased two more vehicles for the operation – a Hyundai i20 and a red Ford EcoSport. The i20 was blasted near the Red Fort, while the EcoSport was recovered from Faridabad.
Were ammonia nitrate and TATP used?
Forensic investigation found traces of ammonia nitrate in room number 13 of Al Falah University. It was made into an explosive by mixing it with triacetone triperoxide (TATP). Dr. Umar Nabi drove the i20 car slowly towards the Red Fort metro station, and the car exploded.
How did the terrorists plan?
The investigation revealed that Dr. Umar Nabi, Dr. Muzammil Ganai and Dr. Shaheen Shahid used a Switzerland-based encrypted messaging app to plan and coordinate the terrorist plot. The four suspects collected Rs 26 lakh in cash, which was handed over to Umar for the operation.
Was there a big VBIED plan on December 6?
Omar, 28, is considered the most staunch member of the network spread across Kashmir, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh. According to officials, he had planned a large vehicle-borne improvised explosion (VBIED) on December 6, around the anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition.
Is it a complex interstate network?
This network became active after the visit of Dr. Omar and Ganai to Türkiye in 2021. They collected huge quantities of chemicals near the university campus – 360 kg of ammonium nitrate, potassium nitrate and sulphur. The December plot was stopped after a Srinagar police investigation, but an untimely blast near the Red Fort resulted in the loss of 13 lives.
