The Delhi Premier League begins on July 31 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, with Central Delhi Kings facing Purani Dilli 6 in the opening men’s match.
The season starts with a ceremony from 5:30 PM, featuring singers Sunanda Sharma and Sukhbir Singh.
Delhi and District Cricket Association President Rohan Jaitley said the league has grown each season and that the 2024 edition should offer high-quality cricket, close contests and a strong crowd at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. He said support from players, franchises and fans has been strong across earlier editions.
Central Delhi Kings captain Yash Dhull said his side has trained well in recent weeks and has a balanced squad with experienced and young players. He said the team will focus on fearless cricket, consistency and giving its best in every match as it begins the campaign.
Purani Dilli 6 skipper Anuj Rawat said his team is also well prepared and looking forward to playing in front of the home crowd. He said the side wants to play positive cricket, entertain fans and compete hard in every game during the tournament.

The men’s tournament will run until August 30, with August 31 kept as the reserve day for the final. The women’s competition will begin on August 20 and end on September 2, with September 3 as reserve day for the women’s final. Both events will be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
