New Delhi: The Delhi Traffic Police has issued certain restrictions on the movement of vehicles in Central Delhi, in view of the ongoing AI Impact Summit. The Summit has seen participation from various world leaders and in order to facilitate their movement, the traffic police put certain restrictions on certain routes.
Talking about Friday, the third day of the AI Summit at Bharat Mandapam, the traffic police said that due to official exigencies various traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place in both the carriageways and service roads around W-Point, ITO Chowk, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, Rajghat Crossing, Shanti Van Crossing, Hanuman Mandir, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Monastery Market, Chandgiram Akhara, Delhi Vidhan Sabha, Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station and North Campus Delhi University.
Traffic restriction between 1 pm to 5:30 pm on these routes
The Delhi Traffic Police said that there would be traffic restrictions on certain routes between 1 pm to 5:30 pm on Friday. These include, Outer Ring Road (Salim Garh Bypass to Majnu Ka Tilla), Inner Ring Road (Mahatma Gandhi Marg), Mall Road, University Road, Internal Roads of North Campus Delhi University, Boulevard Road, Shamnath Marg, Kela Ghat Marg, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, Mahatma Gandhi Marg and IP Marg.
Apart from this the traffic police also marked some diversion points in the city for the day. The traffic on Salim Garh Bypass, under Yudhister Setu, Wazirabad Flyover, Chandgiram Akhara Red Light, IP College red light, Kingsway Camp Chowk, ITO Chowk, W-Point and Delhi Gate would be diverted. The police said that all vehicles passing through these points will be diverted as and when required. This rule however would not apply to emergency vehicles, they added.
Traffic police marks tow-away zones
Apart from notifying route diversions, the traffic police have also marked several tow-away zones in the city. These include, Outer Ring Road from Hanuman Mandir to Chandgiram Akhara (Both carriageways), Inner Ring Road from Chandgiram Akhara to P.S Civil Lines (Both carriageways), Mall Road from Khyber Pass to Khalsa College U-turn (Both carriageways), University Road, Nearby area of Hindu College and other internal roads of North Campus Delhi University, BSZ Marg, JLN Marg, Ring Road from Shanti Van Crossing to Rajghat to IP Flyover to Pragati Maidan Tunnel, Indraprasth Marg.
Delhi traffic police advised commuters to avoid these routes between 1 pm to 5:30 pm on Friday. They were asked to use alternative routes and enjoy a hassle free travel. They added that parking will be allowed only at designated spots, through the day.
The police asked the motorists to act patiently, adhere to traffic rules and restrictions and cooperate with traffic personnel for a smooth experience. They also put out helpline numbers for the public to use in case of any emergencies.
