New Delhi: In a shocking incident from southeast Delhi, three boys aged 12 and 13 have been detained for allegedly raping an eight-year-old girl near her house in Okhla. Police confirmed the arrest on Monday, saying the incident had taken place on 12 and 13 March during the daytime. The incident has left the local community alarmed and raised concerns about children’s safety in the area.
According to police, the girl told investigators that the boys- one aged 12 and two aged 13 approached her while she was on the road near her house on March 12 and 13. She alleged that they lured her to a godown in Okhla Phase-II, where they removed her undergarments and took turns to rape her. The horrific details came to light after the child shared her account with authorities.
Police respond after PCR call
The matter was reported to police on March 14 through a PCR call about the sexual assault of a minor. After which, a team immediately reached the location and began investigations. Considering the sensitive nature of the case, a woman officer was assigned to assist and speak with the child.
The victim was then taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) for a medical examination. Later on, doctors recorded a history of sexual assault and documented her statement as part of the official investigation.

An FIR has been registered based on the victim’s statement under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Police revealed that they have detained the culprits, and further investigation is ongoing. They are speaking to the families of the accused in order to gather more information and evidence.
