Delhi-NCR Rains: A spell of heavy rain drenched Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, and Gurugram early Tuesday, bringing long-awaited relief from the muggy heat but also leaving several parts of the National Capital Region struggling with waterlogged streets and traffic snarls. The downpour, which began late on Monday night, slowed movement across key roads and underpasses during the morning rush hour.

Delhi-NCR Rains: What Does IMD Forecast For Today?

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the city and surrounding areas will remain under a yellow alert for the day, with forecasts of thunderstorms and rain. Tuesday’s maximum temperature is expected to hover around 34 degrees C, while the minimum is likely to be about 25 degrees C. Light showers are predicted to continue until 13 August, followed by moderate rainfall on 14 and 17 August. Daytime temperatures are expected to dip slightly, settling between 31 degrees C and 32 degrees C instead of the recent 34–35 degrees C highs.

Senior meteorologist Mahesh Palawat said a change in wind patterns will contribute to this slight cooling, offering some respite from the persistent summer heat.
