The deadline for Phase 5A has been set for 2028. After government approval, work on the tender process and final design has started. It is being taken forward on fast-track mode in coordination with the Central Vista Redevelopment Project.

According to real estate experts, the impact of the new metro corridor is sure to be visible on the prices of the surrounding areas. Housing prices in areas like Tughlakabad and Kalindi Kunj in South Delhi are expected to increase by 15–25%. Demand for office space may increase in commercial areas like Indraprastha and Shivaji Stadium.

Delhi Metro Phase 5A is not just an expansion project but an effort to integrate the administrative, tourism and residential infrastructure of the city. With 89 km long super line, driverless technology and strong interchange network, this phase is a big step towards making the capital’s traffic system more smart and efficient.

If this project is completed within the stipulated time frame, it can play a decisive role in providing relief to Delhi from traffic jams and pollution.
