Delhi Metro Golden Line: Full List Of Stations, Connectivity And More

The Delhi Metro’s Golden Line, earlier known as the Silver Line, is an upcoming corridor under Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) network.

Designed to enhance connectivity across the National Capital Region (NCR), the Golden Line will link Delhi Aerocity with Tughlakabad Station, covering a vital stretch of South Delhi.

Colour Code and Name Change

Initially proposed as the Silver Line, the corridor underwent multiple colour and name revisions. In November 2023, the DMRC changed the line’s colour code from Silver to Gold. This was followed by the official renaming of the corridor as the Golden Line in January 2024.

Features

The Golden Line is designated as Line 10 of the Delhi Metro. The corridor is approximately 23.62 km long and will feature both underground and elevated sections. Due to design and approval delays, the project experienced setbacks. However, construction is now underway, and the line is expected to be operational by March 2026, a Magic Bricks report said.

The project also involves the construction of a 5 km-long twin tunnel, cut-and-cover tunnel box, underground ramp, and multiple underground stations – all of which will require complex civil engineering work.

Benefits of the Golden Line

Once completed, the Golden Line will offer faster and more efficient travel across key parts of South Delhi. It is expected to significantly reduce travel time for commuters, enhance connectivity to the Indira Gandhi International Airport via Aerocity, and provide smoother transit to areas like Saket, Vasant Kunj, Chhatarpur, and Tughlakabad.
