Now from November 1, all such foreign vehicles which are not of BS-6 standard i.e. old LGV, MGV and HGV will not be able to enter Delhi. There will be strict restrictions on these.

Restrictions imposed on goods vehicles will continue

Under the orders of the Air Quality Management Commission, the Transport Department has said that only commercial cargo vehicles of BS-6 standard are allowed to enter Delhi till 31 October 2026. After this these will also be banned. Delhi government has made it clear that after 2026, only electric vehicles of this category will be able to run in Delhi. That means commercial goods vehicles running on petrol or diesel will be completely stopped. The Transport Department also informed that the restrictions imposed on goods vehicles will continue during whatever phases will be implemented under GREP.

48 teams formed for monitoring

To monitor the borders of Delhi, automatic number plate recognition cameras will be installed at 126 entry points so that banned vehicles can be identified. According to the CAQM order, all agencies will have to submit reports every three months on how the rules are being followed. Apart from this, 48 ​​teams have been formed which will be deployed on the borders of Delhi and will catch vehicles breaking the rules.
