New Delhi: In a major news, there has been a blast alert in front of Red Fort in Delhi on Saturday, with reports suggesting that terrorists may target a temple in Chandni Chowk.
LeT plots Delhi attack as probable revenge
According to reports, the Lashkar-e-Taiba is plotting an IED attack in Delhi following the mosque blast in Islamabad, Pakistan, on February 6. The latest target of the terror outfit is to allegedly avenge the suicide blast at the Islamabad mosque, that killed 31 people and injured more than 160.
However, after the mosque attack, the Islamic State group, said in a statement, “Upon reaching the inner gate of the temple, the martyrdom-seeker detonated his explosive vest amidst the Shi’a congregation, inflicting a large number of deaths and injuries.”
Scare comes after November Delhi blast
On November 10, 2025, Delhi was rocked by a deadly car explosion near the historic Red Fort. The terror blast killed 12 people, and injured nearly two dozen. The blast happened due to a car filled with explosives near the Red Fort Metro Station exploded as multiple nearby vehicles also caught fire. Umar Mohammad, alias Umar Un Nabi, a doctor at the Faridabad’s Al-Falah University, was allegedly driving the car when it exploded.
On the very same day, Central agencies unearthed 2,900 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate just 50 km from Delhi in Haryana’s Faridabad. According to reports, the blast took place after Umar Mohammad panicked and caused the explosion. Investigators made several arrests over the explosives including two key members of the module – Dr Muzammil Shakeel and Dr Adil Rather.
Later, in a clip that surface and was found by the probing agencies, Umar reportedly defended so-called “martyrdom operations”. He allegedly argued in the video that a person “presumes he is going to die for sure at a particular place and time”. Also, he reportedly said, “Don’t fear death,” while suggesting that destiny alone determines when a life ends.
