Delhi Car Blast: Chancellor of Al-Falah grabbed the lands of dead Hindus, know how he committed fraud

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) accused Al-Falah University Chancellor Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui of grabbing land by making fake documents in the names of deceased Hindu land owners in Delhi. Siddiqui is in police custody since November 18.

New Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday accused Al-Falah University Chancellor Javed Ahmed Siddiqui of fraudulently grabbing land in Delhi’s Madanpur Khadar by making fake documents in the names of dead Hindu land owners. According to the agency, the land of Khasra No. 792 was transferred to Tarbiya Education Foundation, a trust linked to Siddiqui, on the basis of a fake General Power of Attorney (GPA).

The ED said many of the land owners whose names appear in the documents had died between 1972 and 1998, yet a general power of attorney dated January 7, 2004, was made in their names and later used to re-register the land. The investigating agency termed the transfer as a fraud and said that fake documents were the basis of the acquisition. Siddiqui is currently in ED custody until the investigation continues.

Jawad Siddiqui arrested on 18 November

ED had arrested Jawad Ahmed Siddiqui, founder of Al Falah University, on November 18. Siddiqui was arrested on November 10 after three university professors were allegedly involved in a terror module behind the i20 car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort.
