The Delhi Capitals Women, among the most formidable teams in the Women’s Premier League, have revealed their list of retained and released players ahead of the WPL 2027 Auction.
The auction is set to take place at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi on October 28, with Delhi Capitals looking to fill the spot of six players they have let go as of now.
Star batter and team skipper Jemimah Rodrigues has been retained without any surprises. Among the biggest names that the Delhi-based franchise, the four-time finalists of the T20 tournament, decided to keep are Australian all-rounder Annabel Sutherland, South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp and Caribbean power-hitter Chinelle Henry.
Shafali Verma, going in thunderous form in international cricket at the moment, has also been retained. Top-ranked T20I bowler N Shree Charani picks herself in that list of retained players. Other young Indian players that the Capitals have chosen to keep include Minnu Mani and Niki Prasad, the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain.
The players DC let go are of a bit of surprise. The six released players are Alana King, Sneh Rana, Lizelle Lee, Taniya Bhatia, Pragati Singh and Eddla Srujana.
