New Delhi: In a shocking case reported from Delhi, a 35-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her boyfriend in Mangolpuri area in outer Delhi. The crime took place at a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation in the area, said the police. The murder took place on Tuesday afternoon, said officials.
Prime accused and 2 others arrested: Police
According to the police, they have arrested the prime accused in the case, the woman’s 22-year-old boyfriend and 2 others in the case. Those arrested include, the accused uncle, who is 50-year-old and a friend of the uncle of the youth, who is 52, they added.
The boyfriend of the woman has reportedly confessed to the crime. He told the investigators that he killed the woman in a fit of rage after she refused to establish physical relations with his uncle and his 52-year-old friend.
The police officers detailed the chain of events which led to the murder. They said that the youth pinned down the woman on the floor of her PG accommodation. He caused injuries to her forehead, smothered her with a blanket and then strangled her, reported Hindustan Times. The PG where the murder took place is owned by the young man’s friend, they added.
As the 22-year-old killed the woman, his uncle and the friend of the uncle stood guard outside the room. The youth then stuffed the body into the bed box kept in the room. His uncle and friend helped him flee the place after committing the crime, said officials.
PG owner alerted police
The Mangolpuri police station received a call at around 7 pm, regarding the discovery of a body in a building in Patthar Market. A police team rushed to the spot immediately, said the Deputy commissioner of police (outer) Vikram Singh.
The police team found that the PG accommodation where the murder took place was being run by a man, who also lived in one of the rooms on the floor of the building. He told officials that the 22-year-old had asked for access to one of the rooms for a few hours to meet a woman.
When the PG owner returned at around 7 pm, he found his friend missing and the door of the room ajar. Upon entering he saw a leg protruding out of the bed box in the room. Upon opening the box, he found a woman’s body in it. He immediately alerted the police.
When the police arrived, they found the body with injury marks and also strangulation marks. They sent it for a postmortem examination and began investigations.
They managed to catch hold of the prime accused soon after the body was discovered. Investigators said that the deceased worked as a domestic help and lived in Mangolpuri. The accused ran a chicken shop near her residence. The woman was married and had children, said officials. She was however in an extra marital affair with the youth.
On Tuesday, she went to meet the accused at the PG accommodation, The other 2 also reached the spot. The youth fought with her and then pinned her down to the ground. He eventually murdered the woman after she refused to give in to the demand of establishing physical relations with his uncle, said officials. The police registered a case under Section 103 (murder) and Section 238 (causing disappearance of evidence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita in the matter.
