Lucknow. After the blast in Delhi, now the eyes of the investigating agencies are fixed on Uttar Pradesh. New revelations revealed in the investigation have directly brought two districts of UP, Lucknow and Lakhimpur Kheri, under the suspicion of terror network. Among the three suspects arrested from Ahmedabad, one has turned out to be a youth from Nighasan area of Lakhimpur, while Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested a female doctor from Lucknow in a weapons case. The links found between the two incidents have become a new headache for the security agencies.

Gujarat ATS caught Sohail of Lakhimpur

Gujarat ATS had arrested three suspects linked to ISKP module from Ahmedabad last Sunday. One of these accused, Mohammad Sohail, is said to be a resident of Jhala village of Nighasan tehsil of Lakhimpur Kheri district. Three years ago, Sohail had gone to Jamia Darul Uloom Azizia Madrasa in Budhana town of Muzaffarnagar to study for Hafiz. According to the family, he is financially weak. Father Salim is a tractor mechanic, while elder brother works in a textile factory in Tamil Nadu.

The family told that Sohail had last come home in June and had gone back to study in July. A week ago he had told on phone that he was going to Gujarat “for some work”.

The link was made in Muzaffarnagar, Suleman of Shamli was also included

According to Gujarat ATS, along with Sohail, Suleman Sheikh of Charan village of Shamli is also included in this module. Both of them met in the same madrasa. The investigating agencies suspect that through these two, the module active in Ahmedabad got in touch with UP.

Female doctor arrested from Lucknow

On the other hand, Jammu and Kashmir Police has arrested Dr. Shaheen Shahid of Lalbagh area of Lucknow. According to the police, a rifle and live cartridges have been recovered from his car. This is the same car which was recently seized from a suspicious hideout in Srinagar.

According to sources, Dr. Shaheen’s car was used by a person named Dr. Muzamil, who was in contact with terrorist organizations for a long time. Shaheen and Muzamil knew each other and were seen together several times. Now the police is investigating whether Dr. Shaheen was aware that his car was being used to transport weapons.

Increasing terrorist movement in Uttar Pradesh

According to investigating agencies, in recent months, terrorist organizations have tried to spread their roots in some districts of UP. Conspiracies to mislead youth through online medium are being seen in border districts like Lakhimpur, Siddharthnagar and Shravasti.

Family claims – ‘Sohail is innocent’

When the media team reached Singhahi village of Lakhimpur, Tasbeeh, caps and religious books were kept at a small shop outside the house. Sick father Salim and mother Rukhsana were found sitting inside. Rukhsana said, “The son had gone to study, never went on any wrong path. He had called a week ago and said that he needs to buy winter clothes, send the money. He was going to return in February. We do not understand how he reached Ahmedabad.” Father Salim said, “Our son is trapped in some conspiracy, he cannot be a terrorist.”
