Yasir Dar was sent to judicial custody till January 16 in the Delhi blast case. 15 people were killed in this attack on November 10. The NIA has identified the suicide bomber as Omar Un Nabi, whose investigation is ongoing.
New Delhi: The special NIA court of Patiala House on Monday sent Yasir Ahmed Dar to judicial custody till January 16. He was produced in the court after NIA’s custody ended. He was arrested by NIA last month. The accused was presented in the court amid heavy security. After hearing the arguments of the agency’s counsel, Principal District and Sessions Judge (Special NIA Judge) Anju Bajaj Chandana sent Dar to judicial custody. The court heard the hearing in closed room.
A total of 15 people were killed and more than two dozen were injured in the Delhi blast that took place in a moving Hyundai i20 car at around 7 pm on November 10. This car was being driven by the alleged suicide bomber, Omar Un Nabi. Through forensic investigation, the NIA has identified the deceased driver carrying the IED in the vehicle as Umar Un Nabi, who was a resident of Pulwama district and was an assistant professor in the Department of General Medicine at Al Falah University, Faridabad.
The agency has also seized another car of Nabi. The vehicle is being examined for evidence. The NIA has so far questioned 73 witnesses in this case, including those injured in the blast that shook the capital. NIA is continuing its investigation in several states in collaboration with Delhi Police, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Haryana Police, Uttar Pradesh Police and many other agencies.
