There are many reasons behind the poor air quality in Delhi. Officials said unfavorable ventilation index (less than 6,000 square meters per second) and slow wind speed (less than 10 km/hr) are preventing the spread of pollutants. According to Air Quality Management, transport contributed 15.3%, industries 7.6%, residential sources 3.7%, construction activities 2% and garbage burning 1.3%.
