Uttarakhand Weather: The weather in Uttarakhand has once again started to alarm residents. Dark clouds have been hovering over the region for several days, and the situation has worsened as heavy rainfall has triggered landslides in multiple areas.
In the past 24 hours, most regions including Dehradun have experienced significant rainfall. On Monday, very heavy rain is forecast in parts of Bageshwar. Heavy rain is also expected in some areas of Dehradun, Tehri, Pauri, and Nainital districts. All districts are likely to witness intense to very intense spells of rain accompanied by thunder and lightning.
Uttarakhand Weather Rainfall Alert: Which Districts Are Most At Risk?
In light of the weather warnings, the Disaster Operations Centre has urged residents to remain cautious and to avoid venturing near riverbanks and streams. Monday’s rainfall is expected to bring the maximum temperature in Dehradun down to around 31.1 degrees C, with a minimum of 24.3 degrees C. While the rain has provided relief from the heat, waterlogging in many parts of the city has caused significant inconvenience.

Uttarakhand Weather: Monsoon To Intensify In These Districts
According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is likely across all districts of Uttarakhand today. While some areas may see light to moderate showers, others are at risk of heavy downpours. Particularly affected are likely to be Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Haridwar, and Udham Singh Nagar, where persistent clouds and light drizzle are expected throughout the day.
The Meteorological Department has also issued warnings about the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning in several parts of the state. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.

Uttarakhand Weather: Daily Life Disrupted In Mussoorie, Dehradun, And Nainital
In Mussoorie, daily life has been disrupted due to the continuous rain. A large tree fell near Centenary School, causing traffic delays. Additionally, a crack on National Highway 707A (Kempty Road) has left only one lane operational, further hampering movement.

Uttarakhand Weather: Rudranath, Kedarnath Yatras Suspended Due To Weather
With heavy rainfall expected in Chamoli, the Valley of Flowers and Rudranath Dham Yatras have been temporarily suspended. The district administration has appealed to tourists and pilgrims to avoid traveling during this period. Tourist movement beyond Ghangaria, the base camp for the Valley of Flowers, has been prohibited. All trekking routes in the district have been closed until August 15, as per orders from the District Magistrate.
A massive landslide on the Ratauli-Jawari bypass, which connects to the Kedarnath Highway has blocked traffic on both sides. A significant accumulation of debris estimated at 10 to 15 feet high has made the road impassable and may have severely damaged a 25 to 30-metre stretch. According to the National Highways Authority, clearing the debris may take four to five days.
