BEML Manufacturing Unit Madhya Pradesh: The foundation stone of the BEML Rail Hub Project to be built at a cost of Rs 1800 crore in Umaria in Raisen district. This unit will provide employment to more than 5000 people with railway coach construction and promote Make in India.
BEML RAIL HUB Umaria: A new chapter has been added to the industrial map of Madhya Pradesh. The foundation stone of BEML Rail Hub for Manufacturing Unit to be built at a cost of Rs 1800 crore was laid in village Umaria in Raisen district. This project will not only bring a new phase of industrial revolution in the state, but will also provide employment opportunities to thousands of youth.
BEML’s second major railway rolling stock unit
BEML President and CMD Shantanu Rai said in the program that the company was established in 1964 and has been playing a leading role in defense, rail and mining sector since then. This will be the second major railway rolling stock unit of Umaria after the metro rail coach unit in Bengaluru. The goal is to prepare the first coach in 18 months. Light weight aluminum railway coaches will be made here with state -of -the -art technology and it will also be possible to manufacture defense products in future.

Chief Minister said ‘Golden day for the state’
Describing the project as a golden opportunity for the state, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that since 2023, the state has got the gift of industrial development of more than Rs 3600 crore. The coaches of Bhopal Metro will also be ready here. He informed that the state government is continuously working to promote industrial investment and a land bank of 48 lakh hectares has been prepared.
Defense Minister’s trust – will get all possible support
Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that Madhya Pradesh has received an investment of Rs 30 lakh crore in a short time for industrial development, which is a proof of leadership efficiency. He assured that Madhya Pradesh will get full support from the Ministry of Defense and MSME sector will also benefit from this project.
This project will directly provide employment to 5000 people, while indirectly there will be opportunities for thousands of others. Along with the construction of coach, other railway products will also be constructed here, which will speed up the vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘self -reliant India’.
Special attention to Madhya Pradesh’s new identity, environment and security in economic development
The Defense Minister said that India was ranked 15th in terms of economy in 2014, which has now reached fourth place in the world. Exports in the defense sector have increased from 600 crores to more than 24 thousand crores.
This project will not only lead Madhya Pradesh on the industrial map, but will also establish it as a ‘modern state’. The standards of security and environmental protection will be followed in the BEML unit. Along with this, emphasis will also be laid on research and development, so that high level innovation can be possible here in future.
