Veteran actress Deepti Naval recently shared a poignant throwback picture with the late Nana Patekar from their 2007 film ‘Yatra’. The image, posted on her social media, captures a tender moment between the two actors during the film’s production.
“A moment between Nana and me…. from Gautam Ghosh’s film ‘Yatra’,” she captioned the nostalgic post.
In the photograph, Naval is seen in a traditional blue Nauvari saree with a yellow blouse, seated beside a stone grinding mill. Patekar, in a simple off-white outfit with a maroon cloth draped over his shoulder, sits beside her, reflecting a scene from the Goutam Ghose-directed movie. ‘Yatra’ premiered at the Montreal World Film Festival in 2006 before its Indian release on May 4, 2007.
This heartfelt memory comes as the film fraternity continues to mourn Nana Patekar, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at 75, following a cardiac arrest in Goa. Naval had previously paid tribute to him, writing, “Farewell Nana… You will always be remembered as a true artiste… Rest in peace my dear Nana… I will always miss the child in you!”
Deepti Naval, known for her impactful roles in films like ‘Chashme Buddoor’ and ‘Mirch Masala’, continues to be a respected figure in Indian cinema, with a career spanning several decades.
