Murari, son of Bihar minister Kedar Prasad Gupta, received a threatening call for extortion of Rs 10 lakh. He was warned to kill him for not giving money. The police have registered a case and started investigation.
Patna: Another sensational case has come to light amid increasing incidents of criminal incidents in Bihar. Murari, BJP MLA from Kudhani and Panchayati Raj Minister of Bihar government Kedar Prasad Gupta, was threatened to give extortion money from an unknown number on Tuesday night and warned that if the amount was not given within a week, he would have to bear the “serious consequences”.

After this threatening call, the minister’s son Murari has filed a complaint with the police. In the application given to the police, Murari said that the call came from number 8797554886 and the caller demanded 10 lakh rupees. When the victim asked the name of the accused, he started abusing and threatening the phone. The threatening person said that one week will kill 10 lakhs or not. The threatening call came around 9.53 minutes on September 30.
Soon after the incident, Murari filed a written application to the local police and complained about the case and requested to provide security. As soon as the application was received, the police station lodged a complaint and started investigating the case.

Local police sources say that after receiving the complaint, an FIR has been lodged and the suspects are being detected by identifying the number seen in the call record. Police said that in such cases the phone will get further direction from the legal tricing of the phone, CCTV footage, and technical investigation related to caller IDs. The police have directed the victim’s family to be vigilant and inform about any type of suspicious contact immediately. Also, the need for safety is under consideration.

The amount of extortion money and the direct threat of killing have created an atmosphere of fear in the minister’s son and family. In the application, Murari has clearly demanded security. Local leaders and people close to the family have also appealed to the administration to provide quick security shields.
