DC Box Office Collection Day 2: Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Acting Debut Witnesses Growth, Earns Rs 6.70 Crore

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s DC has recorded growth at the box office on its second day. The action film, which marks his acting debut, earned Rs 6.70 crore net in India on Saturday, registering a 52.3 percent increase over its opening-day collection of Rs 4.40 crore. Its India net collection now stands at Rs 11.10 crore, while the India gross is Rs 12.74 crore. The Tamil version remained the biggest contributor, followed by Telugu and Hindi versions. The film earned Rs 3 crore overseas on Day 2, taking its worldwide gross to Rs 17.99 crore and giving it a solid start to the weekend.

DC Records Positive Numbers

As per Sacnilk,  earned Rs 6.70 crore net in India on its second day after being screened across 3,549 shows. The collection marks a 52.3 percent rise from its opening-day figure of Rs 4.40 crore. The film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 11.10 crore, while its India gross has reached Rs 12.74 crore.

The Tamil version led the film’s second-day performance with Rs 4.55 crore net. It recorded an overall occupancy of 63.33 percent, with night shows registering the highest occupancy at 80.38%. The Telugu version earned Rs 1.75 crore net, while the Hindi version contributed Rs 40 lakh. Their overall occupancies stood at 42.45% and 12.84%, respectively.

Tamil Nadu Leads Domestic Gross

State-wise figures show that Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2.40 crore to the film’s Day 2 gross collection. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together added Rs 2.25 crore, followed by Kerala with Rs 1.30 crore and Karnataka with Rs 1.15 crore. The rest of India contributed Rs 60 lakh, taking the combined domestic gross from these regions to Rs 7.70 crore.

DC also had a steady presence in overseas markets, where it collected Rs 3 crore gross on its second day. Its cumulative overseas gross has now reached Rs 5.25 crore. Combined with the India gross of Rs 12.74 crore, the film’s worldwide gross stands at Rs 17.99 crore.

DC marks  ,s acting debut and features dialogues by Arun Matheswaran and Franklin Jacob, with additional screenplay by Arun Ranjan. Anirudh has composed the music, marking his first collaboration with Arun Matheswaran. The technical crew includes cinematographer Mukesh G, editor GK Prasanna and art director Kannan S, with stunts by PC Stunts. Kalanithi Maran presents the film under the Sun Pictures banner. Going by the positive reviews, the film is likely to see growth in collections on Sunday as well.
