David Miller’s Shocking Choke, Controversial Umpiring Call Trigger IPL Match-Fixing Storm

David Miller almost pulled off a miracle against the  (GT), but a brain-fade moment in the final over handed GT a thrilling one-run win.

picked up an injury to his right hand while fielding and walked off retired hurt after facing just 10 deliveries. Chasing 211, The Delhi Capitals (DC) were on the track for a win in the 101-1 in the 10th over, with KL Rahul well set, before Rashid Khan removed Nitish Rana and the man in form Sameer Rizvi on consecutive balls, bringing Miller at the crease. However, the South African was clearly in pain and couldn’t bat, and thus walked off the field.

Axar Patel replaced Miller, but DC lost quick wickets as Axar (2), Tristan Stubbs (6), and KL Rahul (92) fell in quick succession, putting GT on top.

David Miller’s Brain-Fade Call That Cost DC

The Capitals needed 45 runs in the last three overs, and DC’s hopes rested on Miller. Kagiso Rabada bowled a magnificent over, bringing the equation down to 36 in 12 balls. Miller went berserk in the penultimate over, hitting Mohammed Siraj for two sixes and a four, while Vipraj Nigam, at the other end, also picked a boundary as DC fetched 23 runs. With 13 needed off the last over, it was anyone’s game, but a boundary by Vipraj on the first ball and a six by Miller on the fourth ball brought the equation to two in two. At this point, the game was in DC’s pocket, but Miller did something beyond explanation. With Kuldeep Yadav at the other end, David Miller refused a single to stay on strike.

This was a big call as a single would have tied the game, and DC would have got another chance in the Super Over if Kuldeep failed to get a run. The call was even more surprising as Kuldeep is very much capable with the bat, but Miller refused. On the final ball, Miller failed to connect, and Kuldeep was run out after he tried sneaking a bye. GT natched a win from the jaws of defeat, leaving David Miller heartbroken.

Match-Fixing Rumours Sweep Internet

Miller’s decision was a clear misjudgment and was called out by cricket pundits, but fans on social media brought out another theory and felt that the match was fixed. Along with the David Miller act, they also pointed out that one of Miller’s shots landed near the boundary but was given a four, and no replays were shown.

Meanwhile, this was the Capitals’ first defeat and the Titans’ maiden win in the IPL 2026.
