The root of the incident was the illicit love affair going on between the mother and her brother-in-law. Actually, the deceased had come to know about the ongoing relationship between her mother and her sister’s father-in-law. She was continuously opposing this relationship and had threatened her mother that she would tell all this to her husband. Fearing public shame and infamy, the mother strangulated Mamta and decided to remove her daughter from the way.
Intoxicating Chowmein and the journey of death
As part of the conspiracy, mother and Samadhi together planned to kill their daughter. They coaxed him and took him on a bike. On the way, he was fed chow mein, in which cannabis was already mixed. The daughter fainted after eating chow mein. As soon as she became unconscious, both of them strangled her to death and threw her body on the banks of the canal in Sunnagarhi police station area.
A clever ploy to mislead the police
After committing the murder, the accused mother cleverly tried to turn the matter around. He removed all the jewelery from the daughter’s body to make it look like a case of robbery or dowry death. After this, she herself filed a case of dowry death against her son-in-law and his in-laws. She thought that the police would send her in-laws to jail and she would be saved.
Police exposed the truth after 10 days
When the police thoroughly investigated this incident, which took place about 30 kilometers away from the district headquarters, they found discrepancies in the mother’s statements. Based on strict interrogation and evidence, the police arrested the mother and her brother-in-law 10 days after the incident. Both have confessed to their crime. The police made it clear that this entire murder was carried out only to protect the illicit relations from being exposed.
