Why was it necessary to submit daily reports to PPAC?
The Union Oil Ministry has issued the ‘Petroleum and Natural Gas (Furnishment of Information) Order, 2026’. Under this, all refineries, LPG and LNG importers, pipeline operators and city gas distributors will provide data to the government regularly. Sometimes this may even need to happen daily. The data will include complete details of production, imports, stocks, distribution and consumption. Its purpose is that any interruption in supply can be detected immediately.
