Often cheap quality cashews are mixed with cashews. You can identify it by its color. If there are two colored cashews then they are of different quality. Apart from this, cashew nuts are sometimes polished with synthetic colors so that they look better and people can easily buy them considering them to be fresh and of good quality. Real cashews are light cream in color and do not have any kind of smoothness or bright shine on them. Whereas polished cashews will have shine.
How to identify adulteration in almonds
If you want to identify the adulteration done in almonds then look at its peel, because if it has been coated then its surface will look shiny and smooth, whereas the surface of real almonds is slightly rough. When you soak almonds in water and after some time color appears in the water, then it has been fake polished. You can check the almonds by tasting them, if you find bitterness or any kind of abnormality in the taste then do not buy them. Many times people sell old almonds which do not contain oil, so break the almonds and press them tightly once to check.

Identify adulteration in walnuts
Generally, if you take loose walnuts i.e. peeled ones then there are more chances of adulteration in them. The color of real walnuts is light golden and their fragrance is quite fresh. You can check it by smelling and tasting it. If it seems bitter or has astringent taste then do not buy walnuts at all. Apart from this, walnuts should also be tasted by smelling them. If you are buying walnuts with the peel, then check its weight, if it seems heavy then its peel is thick and the seeds inside will not be good. Whereas paper walnut is light and it can be cracked by hand.
