Kamakshi Bhaskarla On Dacoit: Anurag Kashyap Sir Meets You as an Equal

Kamakshi Bhaskarla describes her experience on the sets of Dacoit as an engaging, especially as she shared screen space with Anurag Kashyap and Mrunal Thakur. Recalling her first day, the actress says it stood out not just because of the usual nervousness, but also because she was paired with Kashyap for an emotional scene. The shoot required filming in both Telugu and Hindi, making it a new learning experience for everyone involved. Sharing details of her interaction with Anurag Kashyap, she explains how the two supported each other during the shoot. “We ended up helping each other,” she says, saying that while Anurag Kashyap guided her through Hindi lines, she assisted him with Telugu diction since he is not fluent in the language.

She added that Anurag Kashyap appreciated her performance on set, particularly her ability to convey emotion through her eyes. He also said that her casting was spot on. The scene also featured Zayn Marie Khan (Aamir Khan’s Niece), making it a layered and engaging setup. Beyond the scenes, Kamakshi spoke highly of Anurag Kashyap’s personality and approach to filmmaking. She described him as someone who comes to the set “like a blank slate,” open to ideas and free from hierarchy despite his experience.

“Kashyap sir, as an actor, completely surrenders to the director’s vision. Our conversations on the film sets too were about filmmaking. I also told him how much I admired Sacred Games for its morally complex characters”

Kamakshi Bhaskarla Calls Mrunal Thakur Inspiring

Kamakshi’s interaction with Mrunal Thakur, though brief, left a lasting impression. The two shared screen space for only a few days, but she said their exchange was warm and encouraging. Mrunal complimented Kamakshi’s eyes, calling them beautiful, and later praised her potential during the film’s pre-release event. Kamakshi expresses gratitude for the recognition and admiration for Mrunal’s journey. “At the Dacoit pre-release event, Mrunal lauded me saying that I had immense potential. I also thanked her for persevering in her career and becoming a source of inspiration for emerging actors.”

The film has already begun generating buzz, with notable industry figures backing the project. Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu recently shared the trailer and expressed his support for Adivi Sesh. “From Major to #Dacoit… great to see you push further Sesh… The Trailer is a solid setup for what’s to come. Wishing you and team the very best..”

Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit stars Adivi Sesh in the lead. Prakash Raj appears in a significant role. Unlike the slick, intelligence-driven narrative of Goodachari and its sequel G2 (Goodachari 2), Dacoit embraces a more raw and instinctive style of action. Despite its intense emotional undertones, Adivi Sesh describes the film as a feel-good love story at its core.
