Every player has his own different struggle and story. A similar story can also be that of a 29 year old player, who left India and moved to Australia and is now coming here once again to try his luck in the IPL. This player is Nikhil Chaudhary, who can make his place in IPL for the first time.
Debut in India, chance in Australia
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on 9 December ipl auction Released a shortlist of 350 players for. There are 239 Indian players and the remaining 111 foreign players. One of them is 29-year-old all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary, who is an Indian but settled in Australia for the last 3-4 years and started giving a new direction to his cricket career there. But how did Nikhil, who once played for the Punjab team along with stars like Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Shubman Gill, travel this far?
Delhi-born Nikhil Chaudhary started cricket in this city but after his family reached Punjab, he made his debut for this team in 2017. In his debut match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he spent time on the field with Harbhajan and Yuvraj Singh, while the then unknown player Shubhman Gill also made his debut in that match. But after just a few matches, the doors started closing for Nikhil and when the situation did not change, he was in Australia during the Corona virus infection and since the pandemic ended, he decided to stay in Australia.
Did different jobs to earn a living
Nikhil had told in an interview that after deciding to stay in Australia, he was faced with the challenge of earning a living and for this he did different types of jobs. First of all, he got a job of cutting vegetables in a Mexican restaurant, but this proved difficult for Nikhil, who had never used a knife, and he cut his finger. Nikhil told that after seeing this, he was given a big knife in the restaurant and given the responsibility of cutting meat, which he did. But apart from this, he did parcel delivery work for the Australian Postal Department and also started driving a cab.
Luck changed from BBL, now will you get a chance in IPL?
Finally he got a chance to play for Hobart Hurricanes in BBL and here he made a splash with his explosive batting. Since then, he has been playing continuously for this team and this year he made his debut in first class cricket for Tasmania in the Sheffield Shield and took 5 wickets in the second innings of that match. Nikhil also scored a century in his fourth match. Overall, in 36 T20 matches till now, Nikhil has scored 538 runs and also taken 16 wickets and now his eyes are on shining his luck in IPL.
