The IPL 2026 is all set to begin in March-April, as all the 10 teams will compete for the much-wanted crown. Before this, the auction is all set to take place on December 16 (Tuesday) as the teams will look to close the gaps in their squads.
The team where people will have their eyes on are record five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The would look to revuild their squad after the disastrous IPL 2025 season where they finished last.
CSK were always kmown to retain their core and build the squad around that. However, they have taken a different route, as they have released some of their important players, and freed a lot of their squad. They have 9 slots to fill in the IPL 2025 auction with a purse of Rs 43.4 crore, the second highest among all teams.
Before the auction, CSK made one of the biggest trades in IPL history, as they brought in Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals, with Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran moving to the other side.
Ravindra Jadeja has moved on from CSK after 12 years, and the big news is that he has taken a Rs 4 crore pay cut to join his former franchise. While Jadeja’s last drawn salary from CSK was Rs 18 crore, he joins RR for Rs 14 crore. On the other hand, Samson will retain his price of Rs 18 crore at CSK, which he got last year as RR captain.
