Crores of Airtel users have got a big shock. Actually, the company has surprised everyone by stopping the free subscription worth thousands of rupees available with its recharge plans. The company said that now customers will not get the subscription of Perplexity Pro AI on recharge.
However, at the time of launching this offer, Airtel had said that this is not a long-term free benefit and can be availed only for a limited time.
What did Perplexity Pro offer?
Airtel started offering Perplexity Pro subscription with its recharge plans last year as a temporary benefit. Its price was Rs 17,000, but it was given free to Airtel users. Airtel had made it clear in the beginning that this offer will be applicable only till January 16, 2026. Now after completion of this duration, Airtel has removed this offer from its prepaid plan.
Will it make a difference to users claiming the offer?
Its closure will not affect those users who claimed this offer before January 16. They will be able to enjoy this service like before. Their subscription offer will be valid for one year from the date of activation. On the other hand, users who recharge after January 16 will not get this benefit.
One offer closed, another one arrived
There is no need for Airtel users to be disappointed with this offer being discontinued. Even though Airtel users are not getting Perplexity Pro subscription, they can now get free access to Adobe Express Premium. Airtel had announced its partnership with Adobe last week. Under this, 36 crore users of Airtel will get free access to Adobe Express Premium. In this plan with an annual subscription fee of approximately Rs 4,000, users will be able to enjoy Adobe’s generative artificial intelligence capabilities and other features for free. If we talk about Jio, the company is offering free subscription of Google Gemini with its recharge plans.
